Cheryl R. Whitley began her career in law enforcement as a police officer, serving in special operations and later as a detective and narcotics investigator. That foundation gave her an insider's understanding of police procedure, evidence handling, and prosecution strategy — knowledge she now uses to defend the accused.
She went on to serve as a law clerk with the Cochran Firm in St. Louis and as an intern with the Cochran Firm, working alongside some of the most respected trial attorneys in the country. Today, she brings more than two decades of combined law enforcement and legal experience to every case she handles.
Admitted to the Illinois State Bar and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois, she represents clients in state and federal matters alike — from arraignment to verdict, and appeal when necessary.
